Summaiya Rizwan (born 30 April 1986) is a Pakistani broadcast journalist, news presenter, and TV anchor. Summaiya predominantly presents on Bol News, where she hosts current affairs show Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar.[1]

Early life and education

Summaiya was born in Karachi and got her early education from Khatoon e Pakistan College[2]. At the college she was also active in debates, naat khawni and drama activities.

Summaiya went on to study for a Bachelors of science in Zoology[3] from at the Federal Urdu University, where she was also a member of the debate society.

Besides Urdu, Summaiya is fluent in English language.

Start of career

Summaiya started her career in 2006 from PTV. In 2017, she returned to PTV for an independence day special documentary on Quaid-e-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah. [4]

ARY News

In 2007, Summaiya joined ARY One World (now known as ARY News) as a news anchor. At ARY she also hosted, business program, sports show, special programs on ARY Digital and took a break from the screen in 2009. She returned to the screen in 2012 and again join ARY News[5], where besides news anchoring she hosted various transmissions, sports shows, Eid shows[6], covered numerous events, such as ARY's first award show, Marathon transmission on PTI's Dharna[7]. Covered the APS incident[8]. She also covered the 15 August 2016 controversial speech of Altaf Hussain [9]that lead to an attack on ARY News office in Karachi[10]. Considered as the leading news and TV anchor of ARY at that time, Summaiya, also covered the 2013 general elections and 2015 local body elections for the channel.

BOL News

In 2017, Summaiya joined Bol News as a news anchor and TV anchor[11], initially she hosted Bol News Head Quarters [12] and later she started her hugely popular show, Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar.[13]

Besides her show summaiya did  Ramazan transmission, she hosted the special launching  transmission of Bol Entertainment[14], Eid special shows[15], lead huge transmission of Election 2018 and various special transmissions.

Modeling

Summaiya is an occasional model and appeared in the TVCs of Tiger Biscuit[16]s and Nestle[17].
