Arkady Ukupnik helped Sergei Vasilyevich enter the big stage: thanks to him, the cassette with the recordings of the "N-Band" group fell into the hands of Alla Pugacheva. Interested in music and a pleasant voice, Alla Borisovna came to personally meet the young performer. After lengthy conversations, Sergei Chelobanov was asked to sign a contract with the Pugacheva Theater, to which he agreed.

Since 1990, the "H-Band" group began to perform at well-known venues. In the same year Sergei was invited to the "Blue Light". A year later, the musician recorded his first album, The Uninvited Guest. Around the same time, Chelobanov composed 2 works for the film "God's Creature", in which he played the role of Jesus. Another cinematic experience in his biography is a musical tape with the participation of the A-Studio group, named after the composition "Julia". In the video for the song "You Remember" the artist starred in 4 different characters.

Under the leadership of Alla Pugacheva, Chelobanov toured across Russia with his program. At that time, there were many rumors that the young musician and Alla Borisovna had an affair.

Sergei Vasilyevich himself did not confirm these rumors, but did not deny either. According to him, there was no relationship, except for business, between the artists. Later, in the program of Lera Kudryavtseva "Secret for a Million", the singer suggested that Harry and Lisa, the children of Alla and Maxim Galkin, were born with the help of biomaterial that the star couple passed back in those days.

Thanks to the influence of Alla Borisovna, Sergei Chelobanov got into the society of popular musicians and performers of that time. But their collaboration did not last long. In 1994, a split occurred in the well-coordinated team, and for some time Chelobanov stopped appearing in public.

Longing for the stage and grateful listeners made the musician return and continue his work. 3 more albums followed, which received recognition from fans of the composer's work.

Then Sergei Vasilyevich tried several times to perform with a solo program, but the songs did not find a response in the hearts of the listeners. But Chelobanov's arrangements were used by Philip Kirkorov in the album "CheloFiliya", which easily sold out and earned some popularity. After working with Kirkorov, Sergei Chelobanov gave up trying to sing himself and devoted himself to the work of a composer and arranger.

In the 2000s, the singer took part in the boxing show "King of the Ring", took the stage in the "Three Chords" singing competition, reminded his former fans about himself and acquired new ones in "You are a superstar". In the latter, along with Chelobanov, old hits were performed by Aziza, Alexey Glyzin, Shura and Anna Veski. The competition was seen as an opportunity to "reanimate" forgotten stars. Joseph Prigogine managed to conclude a contract with Sergei, but the matter did not progress further: it was rumored that the producer refused to work with the ever-drunk artist.

Nevertheless, on Instagram, fans have started a page on behalf of their favorite, publish photos and videos and urge to resume concert activities.

The last, or, as creative people prefer to say, the extreme performance of Chelobanov, according to fan communities, took place in 2012 in his native Balakovo.
